This protective space is intended for Filipino, Asian American & Pacific Islander women in reconnecting with their authentic emotional and spiritual selves while managing multi-faceted lives. I specifically enjoy working with

  • New graduate students and registered AMFTs entering the mental health/therapy who want to make sense of their healing journeys

  • First-time mothers who want to break intergenerational patterns of self abandonment and silence while raising their little ones.

  • Trauma survivors who are trying to manage their trauma responses so that they can show up in their relationships and careers as best they can.

In my therapy practice, many of my clients come to me with histories of sexual assault, childhood emotional neglect and the intergenerational trauma of living under systems of oppression (Capitalism, White Supremacy and Patriarchy).

My clients experience symptoms of depression, anxiety and have trouble maintaining meaningful honest relationships with others. They tend to have overwhelming feelings of self-doubt, low self worth and may even experience suicidal thoughts or have a history of self harm.

During my therapy sessions, I serve as a witness to truth telling and provide direct feedback and guidance on how you can choose YOURSELF over others.

As therapy progresses, my clients are able to tap into the transformational power of their emotions, increase their level of self-awareness and feel more confident when expressing their needs and setting boundaries with loved ones.

The three essential steps to healing include: 1) Becoming more aware of what causes us pain and discomfort. 2) Learning new ways to self soothe and tend to the pain and discomfort and then 3) Showing ourselves compassion and forgiveness for either “not knowing better” or for “allowing the pain and discomfort.” Life is not easy and to build a practice of self love through speaking your truth, adopting coping strategies and integrating acceptance of our pain leads to resiliency and change. I can walk with you as you begin to build that path back to yourself.


BREAK FREE FROM UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIP PATTERNS

As human beings, we learn how to relate to one another by observation. Many of the unhealthy relationship strategies we learned from our parents can manifest in our adult relationships. In therapy, you can learn how attachment styles impact your ability to relate to your partner, improve communication and avoid repeating cycles of abusive behavior in relationships. Talking to your loved ones about mental health is hard, especially if you come from a culture that does not have an understanding of or trust in the American mental health system. In therapy, you can learn how to set boundaries with family members, translate the language of modern mental health and have hard conversations with your family about intergenerational trauma issues.

Research shows that individuals who know and understand their individual purpose within the collective design have a higher quality of life. Understanding your core values and knowing your “Why?” for doing what you do will help to strengthen your mental health needs.     Individuals who have experienced sexual trauma can develop symptoms of depression, anxiety and PTSD. You may experience unhealthy romantic relationships, poor self esteem/body image, substance abuse and increased risk of suicide.

Consultations are 20 minutes and done via Zoom. By scheduling your consultation, you state the understanding that:

  • This consultation is free to you.

  • Therapy sessions are only available to CA residents.

  • I do not take insurance payments. My full fee rate for 50 minute sessions is $150-$185 per session.

  • New clients are required to meet with me weekly for the initial 12 weeks of therapy for clinical assessment and relationship building.

  • Therapy sessions are done through a HIPPA-compliant Zoom platform.
